Glendora

blogsunshine
"There is nothing, literally nothing more important than completing our mission. End of story."
I think I'm going to start doing quick illustrations from flicks I adore that just seem to rub me all sorts of great ways.
Starting with Sunshine, Chris Evans brought the role of Mace to life so vividly. The intensity of his character was something I just drool over to this day-but then again, I'm an avid drooler for Danny Boyle and all of his films.

Rachel was kind enough to give me a print before winter break and I have proudly hung it up for display in my kitchen. Her ability to capture strange, hilarious, or even neutral illustrations with her understanding of color and shape always gets me really excited. A lot of my favorite work from her is here and it's pretty juicy.

Break the sky

So I'm back to inking things and it feels pretty much incredible to be comfortable in a medium after about a two year hiatus.
-Left 4 Dead is as great as I had ever hoped. Beating the four campaigns filled me with some of the grandest feelings of achievement since the first time I beat House of Dead I, II and III in the arcade.
-I've also finally read Pixu
 BEST SELF PUBLISHED COMIC 2008
"The indie collective of Becky Cloonan, Vasilis Lolos, Gabriel Bá and Fábio Moon upped the ante on the self-publishing end with this minicomic chronicling the lives and deaths of the residents of a haunted house. With each horrific chapter created by a different artist, PIXU (Pee-shoo) holds together incredibly well and has us salivating for the second volume."-Wizard #207
I hope that anyone will go out of their way to at least buy a ding/dent copy since this comic will burn out fast and probably not be available again, at least for a long, long time.

I know you are but what am I?

I've been watching Pee Wee's Big Adventure non-stop for almost five days. I couldn't contain myself and had to draw something ridiculous. I know I didn't include great folks in there like, Simone or even Andy, her head bashing boyfriend--but it really became an issue on who made the cut. I think I'm going to make another one and really attempt to include everyone. For a calendar I'm hoping to finish in time for January 09.

Artemis

Artemis

12x12 Calendar illustration depicting a god with their special attributes connecting to their month. I chose Artemis, commonly known as Diana, in a vegetarian alternative fashion--terrified of the turkey set in front of her, it is said Diana had two pets that were virtually turkeys.
